Rally to demand that the Board of Supervisors close down Men’s Central Jail now. LA County's Community Safety Implementation Team, which is in charge of jail closure for LA County, will be presenting its report on their plan to close Men's Central Jail at the Board meeting. 38 people have died in jail custody this year alone, yet thousands remain incarcerated there, more than half without a conviction. We can't afford to wait for the Board to drag its feet any longer on closing this disaster.

Attendees will reflect on nine powerful years of movement building, look back on wins, share space for connection and strategy, and discuss the urgent issues at the heart of IJ's new report. This event is free and open to all directly impacted community members, including those who are formerly incarcerated or have/had an incarcerated loved one. Supporters, allies, and other community members are invited to consider making a donation to help IJ's work moving forward.
